Julian of Norwich: Revelations of Divine Love
02/11/2018 by Reverend Miara Wiltshire
Julian of Norwich is a Christian Mystic of the Middle Ages, whose message is truly precious and inspiring. In 1373, when she was near death, most likely due to the black plague, she received a series of 16 mystical revelations from our Lord, and she was healed. Following this, she spent the rest of her life as an Anchoress while writing down her deep understanding of what the Lord showed her. Her book, Revelations of Divine Love, was lost for 500 years, and as if by a miracle it survived, and was rediscovered in 1921. Today, it provides us with a message just as alive, relevant and inspiring as it was when written. We will explore many blessed gems of truth that come from this exquisite text.

Many of these inspiring souls, too often unknown, can be burning beacons of light and beauty for us in these times.
Hinds Feet on High Places: An Allegorical Look at our Journey Upward to God
01/28/2018 by Reverend Felice Reynolds
From the garden at the back of the mission house at the foot of Mount Gerizim, Hannah Hurnard would often watch the gazelles bounding up the mountainside, leaping from rock to rock with extraordinary grace and agility. Their motion was one of the most beautiful examples of exultant and apparently effortless ease in surmounting obstacles she had ever seen. It occurred to her that persons who desire to follow Christ long for the power to surmount all difficulties and tests and conflicts in life in the same exultant and triumphant way. In her allegory, Hinds' Feet on High Places, she tells the story of Much-Afraid and the transformation she undergoes to be able to reach the High Place of attainment and to dwell in the Kingdom of Love.
