Easter's Immortal Influence (108-1 Sunday 3/29/1959)
We are faced as Christians with the heritage given us. Our Lord is not one who lives in another dimension in some supernatural state apart from us. Our Lord is a Living Christ, and we should always mention that, that phrase, in that way. He is living. He is serving. He is doing. He enters our realm to work with us and to guide us further in His teachings. Excerpts...
The Way of Holiness (126-1 Sunday 3/6/1960)
All of us must find oasis, a holy island, in our calendar and in our ongoing through the years, Lent is one of the finest of them. It is a time when outer distractions are deliberately put aside when the highest in us tells us the trivialities and pretenses and expectations and worldliness and all the things that are a part of the unregenerate life need to be set distinctly apart; way outside the territory of our given attention for we in this new period are wholly concentrating upon the reason for our incarnation That is the meaning behind Lent. One great soul the greatest that this humanity has produced, the Lord Christ, showed us how to live. The more we grow the more we see the greater our Lord is. And we appreciate in this holy island, this time of apartness from outer living, periods for drawing upon His matchless courage, His tremendous life, His great and inexhaustible spirituality. Excerpts...
Springtime's Festival (128-2 Sunday 4/24/1960)
A new season begins the week after Easter. There is a distinct change is what we are receiving spiritually. We receive from the powers of nature. Nature is an enlightener that can be approached in our gardens or in the wilderness. To learn from nature, we must concentrate on the message of each place. Living in the city can desensitize us, but in the wilderness, we are spiritually reinvested. Trees should be a special love of the spiritual Christian. Nature has lessons for all of us, deep strong, true, creative, ever changing. Excerpts...
Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring (182-2 Sunday 4/15/1962)
Describes the events of Palm Sunday. Describes the purpose and need for many versions of Christianity, and that these are beneficial. Periodically the disciples reincarnate to rekindle the flames of Christianity. It isn't any book, any theology, any creed–it's the Living Christ, whom we worship. Early Christians knew the truth that men go on and finish their evolution and become perfected. For five minutes every day, we should meditate on what Christ means to us. Four ways the Christ influences the earth: regenerating nature, enlightening men, giving dynamic spiritual principles, and opening the gates to the inner kingdom. Excerpts...
Humanity's Need for Meditation (266-1 Sunday 12/6/1964)
We are responsible for our thinking and it must be improved. People who are difficult to us require our universal love and goodwill. Quotes from Thoreau given. Procedure for practice of concentration, meditation and contemplation given, and descriptions of each. Daily review of life rules is important. Meditation deals with higher levels of thought, not logical thinking. Suggested guidelines for meditations on 8 different days. Suggested meditation for Christmas and Easter. We should meditate on our possibilities and talents. Gandhi's life rules given. Excerpts...
Easter's Meaning for Us (303-1 Sunday 4/10/1966)
The story of our Lord Christ is a continuing unfoldment. It is always glorious and beautiful to recognize at Easter and at Christmas how very much He has grown, and how much wider are the hosts that are about Him, and how many more persons He has claimed. The cross was not the ending for Him. It was only the beginning, and our Lord Christ is very much alive, so that we always include in addressing Him the term, Thou who art the Living Christ, because we consider that very important in rightly addressing this very great soul. Excerpts...
Eternal Resources of Spirit (359-1 Sunday 4/7/1968)
Jesus went through the ordeal on the cross, not as a ritual, but in full consciousness. In becoming a Lord with the full investments of Christhood, He could become the Christ Regent. We too are on the way to our own Christship. We will never be Christ as our Lord is Christ Hierarch, but we must be vested with the Christ within us. Our work is to face our own initiations. We have three things to do in f acing initiations. We must know ourselves spiritually, know ourselves in the world, and know the world in ourselves. The first degree of initiation is the one of rebirth. The second degree of initiation is baptism with power. The third degree of initiation requires of us spiritual maturity. The fourth degree of initiation requires that we conquer for good ego and self love. The fifth degree of initiation takes one into mastership. Excerpts...
Emmanuel: God With Us (389-1 Sunday 4/6/1969)
Easter celebrates our Lord's victory over death and evil. He is now a transformer that touches spiritual essence throughout all regions. He is the example of what it means to think and feel and live and aspire from the soul plane. Christ's mission is to release the Divine into our conscious knowing. Beings higher than ourselves in intelligence and unfoldment carry out the purposes of our Lord, which emphasise the four cornerstones of Christianity–love, faith, kindness and integrity. As you serve the Christ, the adventure you will know of becoming more universal and more cosmic in your appreciation will be the most wondrous spiritual adventure you have ever enjoyed. Christ will not finish His work until the whole planet and all of humanity of every century is brought to its highest degree of development. Excerpts...
Christ's Past Present and Future Influence upon Us (528-2 Sunday 4/22/1973)
What a day Easter signifies. Only our intuition can tell us of some of its meanings. Most of them go way beyond our comprehension. They are known to those of high development, a development beginning with Mastership. We realize that something mighty took place which Easter commemorates which will cause us to be indebted to that one who made it possible for all of our evolution. Excerpts...
The Coming of Christ into our Hearts and Lives (545-2 Sunday 12/23/1973)
There is no more Divine event that has ever happened on earth than Nativity, the coming of the Christ. We look at Easter upwards and we know that there is a mighty event being celebrated of a tremendous attainment at that time, but it is so far ahead of us in our own unfoldment because of what it signifies; Easter does the completed degree of Lordship which our Lord had achieved. But Christmas celebrates His coming. Excerpts...
The Risen Christ: The Governing Lord Emmanuel (553-2 Sunday 4/14/1974)
As Reverend Newhouse does so eloquently, she describes how Christ is the only one in all our humanity that achieved Christhood. She explains the strength, dedication, and love it took for Him to achieve such a tremendous feat. Also how the resurrection transformed the disciples. Excerpts...
Christ Our Lord Most Holy (783-2 Sunday 4/3/1983)
Reverend Newhouse asks us some questions about our purpose in being a Christian and in what ways we show that to others. She explains how great the Lord is to this planet and that we should think and pray to Him every day. She emphasizes the Holiness of Christ. Excerpts...

Christian Mysticism is simply a method of reverence and devotion to God. It is a path of attainment which leads to the Divine Reality–to first-hand knowing of God. The mystical path stresses the way of Divine union with God through illumination.
The Living Christ is the Lord of Angels and of men and the model of our own becoming. His service is the broadcasting of the Divine Christ Spirit, the light of redemption. His influence awakens in us the Christing of our own natures.
The Way of Discipleship is a way of drawing ever closer to the Divine Presence. It is a voluntary surrender of the entire self to the service of God. It pays great attention to spiritual realities and goals inspiring us toward inner growth.
Meditation and Prayer are the disciplines that most directly draw us Godward and into the inner worlds. During these moments, we consciously purify ourselves of worldly or personal preoccupations and center ourselves wholly upon consciousness of God.
The Angelic Kingdom consists of beings created by God. They, like mankind, press toward the goal of perfection and union with the Supreme Spirit. Angels are purer and more spiritual than man. Their very spirituality readily makes them mediators between Heaven and Earth.
Nature provides healing and enlightenment. When wisely trod, the path to God through nature employs every faculty inherent in man. In nature, beauty shines in all its pristine essence before us. It is for us to newly discover and translate this beauty to our spirits and our senses.
Reincarnation is the realization that life is a school, striving to awaken and quicken the Divinity within us, striving to bring man from primitive stages of unfoldment to that of greater and more glorious awareness.
The life and writings of Flower A. Newhouse are those of a Christian mystic, and her insights into the inner realms of life provide us with a path to wholeness that she called "Living the Life." These teachings are not doctrine, but a practical guide to the direct, immediate experience of God. Flower's mission was also to reawaken humanity to the reality of angels, a work she began with her first book in 1937, and added to in many published writings and in recorded lectures.
